Biological Containment / Barrier Facilities
The Biosafety in Microbiological and Biomedical Laboratories (BMBL) Handbook describes the criteria for both barrier and containment facilities for working with potentially harmful agents, ranging from Biological Safety Level (BSL) 1 to BSL – 4. LS2 has been involved in a multitude of projects which require thorough knowledge of the proper approaches to control in these specialized spaces. Considerations for access, security, decontamination, and systems isolation are integral to the design of a facility that meets the criteria of the BMBL and can be certified. LS2 is familiar with Animal BSL criteria and requirements as well.
